Space Art Program

Kentucky Space is delighted to announce the launch of its program for artists captivated by the wonders of space exploration. “Space Imaginations” is a multi-year effort to bring together artists of all medium who are influenced by the beauty, the drama and the uniqueness of this vast new frontier and allow the rest of us to share their unique visions. The goal is to bridge the gap between the technology of space programs and the beauty of space exploration.

The program will host a series of exhibitions and workshops designed to bring together photographers, illustrators, digital and video artists, sculptures, conceptual artists together with the machinery that makes space travel a reality. Venues will include traditional art galleries throughout Kentucky, art museum, corporate locations and one day orbiting space platforms and zero gravity flight opportunities.

A steering committee composed of members of the space and artist’s communities will serve as a focal point for discussion and implementation of space-themed art projects. Members will be announced this summer.

As our civilization moves into outer space, so too will our cultural. Kentucky Space,  as part of our inclusive space program,  will provide a platform for bringing together works of art right here on earth and one day soon works of creative design that are sent into outer space.
